Meetings

so there's your dose of cominc relief for the day :)

I totally needed this distraction cause I've had a killer headache since Monday and nothing is working.
I'm starting the day off with a cherry coke followed by a dr. pepper and an ice bath at some point - here's hoping it works!

white chicken lasagna

Made this yummy lasagna for dinner last week. It's pretty rich, but very tasty!

White Chicken Lasagna

3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons butter
4 chicken breasts, cooked & shredded
2 cans cream of chicken soup
1 8oz pkg cream cheese
2 cups sour cream
2/3 cup milk
1 lb lasagna noodles cooked (I used the no-cook kind)
1 lb mozzarella cheese, grated

In a large sauce pan, over medium heat, brown garlic in butter. Add cream cheese, cream soup, sour cream, & milk. Stir until cream cheese is melted. Add chicken.
In a 9x13 glass baking dish layer noodles, white sauce with chicken, then cheese. Repeat steps 2 more times, ending with mozzarella cheese on top (so there will be 3 layers). Bake at 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes. Serve with homemade bread seen here!

date night

We haven't been on a date in a long while so on Friday we decided to fix that :) We dressed real purdy and headed out to have dinner at Reality Bites.

I finally got to wear these awesome shoes I'd gotten back in April
(I told you we haven't been on a real date in a looong time)

At Reality Bites we got ribeye tacos (mmmmm)

and pork chops on mashed potatoes w/ hollandaise sauce (another mmmmm)

After dinner we were feeling pretty lazy so we just stopped by Red Box and picked up a movie.
We decided to get Tangled because the Production Design is by Douglas Rogers, Kevin's cousin.

loved it! It was so cute and the horse character cracked me up! Kevin even enjoyed it ;)

Last year when we were in Vegas we happened to stop by Planet Hollywood and they happened to have a Cello that Douglas designed for a Disney charity auction on display. It was so cool and random to be able to see it in person!

Such a fun memory and happy coincidence!

bread machines rock!

We recently had a bread maker passed to us from Kevin's Grandma. We have really been enjoying having fresh homemade bread... and it's so easy... who know?! Seriously, it's a easy as using a dishwasher. Just load up the dishes ingredients and wait for a couple of hours and presto... all done!

Our favorties recipe so far is this whole wheat recipe...

Whole Wheat Loaf

1 cup plus 2 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons butter
11/2 cups bread flour
11/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon salt
11/2 teaspoons bread machine yeast

Place all ingredients in bread machine pan in the order listed. Select Whole Wheat cycle with light crust color. Remove baked bread from pan and cool on wire rack.

it's so tasty and comforting when warmed with butter

bathroom update !!!!!!!!!!

I'm finally ready to share a bathroom update!!! I've put together some of the many pics we've taken along the way. We're not finished with this project, but the room is back to functional!

Remember my first post way back in May, seen here? We've run into a lot of issues and are very thankful to haved learned way more than we thought we needed to a lot and for the people who have helped us out! Specifically all the people who we borrowed tools from and Rob - who mended a water pipe we accidently found in the wall ;)

Remember what it looked like before we got started???

remember how tiny it appeared?

remember the brown shell shaped vanity that was too large for the room and falling apart anyway?

remember the old toilet that I just loved?

remember the toilet paper holder that had 8 screws and glue holding it to the wall?

remember the crack in the wall and the lack of paint and molding from where we moved the pantry?

remember the linolium floor?

ALL GONE!!!

we painted the walls...

we tiled the floor...

we replaced the trim...

once that was all done we had this awesome new room...

then we added a new toilet...

which looks much much better!

and a new vanity/sink combo and new faucet...

I may have even purchased 3 different faucets until I found exactly the right one!

finally (for now) we painted the door and added new hardware...

I haven't found the perfect mirror or light yet and we need to add things like a tp holder, towel holder, light plates and wall art, but I love love love how everything is turning out and I couldn't wait any longer to share!!!

mia's love affair with peanut butter

Mia loves peanut butter! When we're at the end of a jar she always gets to like it clean and she takes as long as she need to make sure every single speck of peanut butter is gone! It's so fun to see her so engaged in her project!

I wish I'd taken an "after" shot of the jar... it was clean clean clean!!!

ella @ 6 months

Last week I took some shots of Ella at 6 months. I believe I was asked to do this based on my price and not my skill level (FREE!!!) haha! But she's so cute the pics turned out pretty good anyway... at least in my opinion!
